Information for health issues for people with learning disabilities
Health Services reasonable adjustments
People with learning disabilities can find it hard to use health services.
Health services should make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to help people with learning disabilities use services.
A reasonable adjustment is a change that has been made to a service so that people with learning disabilities can use them like anyone else.

PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLETS FOR PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES
PRODIGY has launched a new set of materials on a range of health topics that are particularly relevant to the health of people with learning disabilities. The leaflets were commissioned by the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities and written (by the Easyhealth team at Generate) with easy words and pictures, making them suitable to give patients with learning disabilities or indeed anyone who struggles with written information.
Topics include common conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes, obesity and thyroid problems.
